The stains pressure alone won’t fix

Rust, oil, efflorescence, soot — each needs its own chemistry.

Some stains shrug off a pressure washer no matter how hard you push: rust from fertilizer granules, a leaky battery, or a rusted chimney streaking the wall below; oil and grease drips on the driveway; the white mineral bloom (efflorescence) that creeps out of brick and concrete; soot around a chimney or fire pit. Blasting them just spreads them around.

Each one comes off with a targeted treatment — rust dissolvers, degreasers, salt-neutralizing washes — applied, left to dwell, agitated, and rinsed. One honest note: oil is the trickiest of the bunch. Fresh stains usually lift well; old ones fade rather than vanish, and no honest company guarantees them. We’ll tell you which to expect before you spend a dollar.

Good to know

Common questions about pressure washing

How much does pressure washing a driveway or patio cost?

Hard surfaces are priced by area with a minimum charge, and the instant quote tool gives you a real number in one minute. Because it’s by the square foot, you know the price before we start.

Is power washing the same as pressure washing?

In everyday use, yes — most people mean the same thing, and if you call us about power washing we know exactly what you want. The trade draws one distinction: power washing uses heated water, pressure washing doesn’t. Heat earns its keep on grease and oil; for driveways, patios, and pavers, the surface cleaner and the right chemistry matter far more than water temperature. What actually matters is matching the method to the surface — real pressure belongs on concrete, pavers, and stone, while siding and roofs get a low-pressure soft wash and should never be pressure washed at all.

What surfaces do you pressure wash?

Concrete driveways and walks, pavers and interlock, patios, steps, and hardscape. A surface cleaner leaves an even finish edge to edge — no wand-swipe “zebra stripes” — and lifts the embedded grime, algae, and weeds growing in the joints.

Can you get out rust, oil, or those white mineral stains?

Most of them, with the right chemistry rather than brute force — rust dissolvers for fertilizer and battery stains, degreasers for oil, and salt-neutralizing washes for efflorescence (the white bloom on brick and concrete). One honest note: old oil fades rather than fully vanishes, and no honest company guarantees it. We’ll tell you what to expect before you spend a dollar.

Will pressure washing damage my concrete or pavers?

Not when it’s done right. We match the pressure and technique to the surface — a surface cleaner for an even finish on concrete, gentler settings on softer pavers. Interlock sometimes needs joint sand topped up afterward, and we’ll flag that if yours does.

Does it get rid of the weeds and moss in the cracks?

Yes — cleaning lifts the growth and organic buildup out of the joints and pores. It won’t stop new seeds blowing in forever, but it resets the surface to clean and even, and clears the algae that makes walkways slippery.
