Pressure Washing · Midland, ON
Pressure Washing in Midland.
Driveways, walkways, patios, and steps across Midland — surface-cleaned edge to edge, with the growth lifted out of the joints and old masonry treated with the care it needs.
Before & after
Real pressure washing jobs, before and after.
Not renders, not stock photos — actual Simcoe County homes, shot before we started and after the water dried.
What Midland does to hardscape
Concrete and pavers in a harbour town go green before they go grey. Georgian Bay moisture keeps shaded slabs damp for most of the year, so algae takes hold on the north side of everything — walkways, patios, the shaded half of a driveway, and especially any steps heading down toward the water.
Near the harbour and downtown, add the working-waterfront share of it: grime on lower walls and walks, and gulls, whose droppings stain and etch if they sit. Around Little Lake and the shaded older streets, wet leaf litter leaves tannin staining — the brown-black marks that outlast the leaves by years.
The other Midland pattern is joint growth. Paver driveways, patios, and walkways collect enough organic debris in the seams to become a seedbed — moss first, grass and weeds after — and that growth slowly forces the joints apart.
How we pressure wash in Midland
Surface cleaners, not a bare wand. A wand in a hurry leaves zebra-striping — arcing light-and-dark bands that never quite wash out and end up more obvious than the dirt was. A surface cleaner covers the slab evenly, edge to edge.
Midland needs one extra piece of judgment, and it’s the reason we’re careful here: the older streets are full of century brick, original mortar, and soft heritage masonry. High pressure blows mortar joints out and feathers old paint — damage that costs far more than the cleaning did. Those surfaces get low pressure and detergent doing the work, matched to what the material can actually take. If a surface shouldn’t be pressure washed, we’ll say so rather than do it.
One honest note on the hard cases. Rust, oil drips, leaf tannin, and efflorescence — the white mineral bloom that creeps out of brick and concrete, which a town this full of masonry sees plenty of — are separate problems from dirt. Pressure alone won’t fix any of them; each needs its own chemistry. Fresh oil usually lifts well, old oil fades rather than vanishes, and no honest company guarantees it.
